Steven C. Earnhart
Summary
Steven practices in business, real estate representation, and litigation. He represents small and medium-sized businesses, real estate investors, developers, and operators across the State of Indiana including residential landlords, commercial and light industrial landlords, homeowner and condominium owner associations, condominium and residential developers, retail establishments, property management companies, financial institutions, residential and commercial builders. Steven's practice encompasses most areas that confront small and medium-sized companies including employer-employee disputes, contract disputes, lease negotiations, foreclosure, zoning, wage and hour, licensing, workouts, debt collection. His practice has expanded with the globalization of investments and now encompasses international business, government relations, and investments, both domestic and abroad.
Steven has over twenty years of litigation experience, trying both bench and jury trials in state and federal court. He has also distinguished himself in the area of receiverships, creditors' rights, and debt collection, routinely lecturing on issues involving the problems with debt collection. Steven is a former adjunct professor of business law with Indiana State University's MBA program. He is also a regular speaker in continuing education programs for lawyers, financial institutions, certified public accountants, and real estate programs. He is a periodic speaker at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis. He has also served as judge pro temporare in Marion County.
Steven is a Hoosier native. His family has operated small businesses in Indiana for nearly fifty years. As such, Steven's approach to practicing law is grounded in his appreciation of the economic realities of owning and operating small and medium businesses. He approaches the representation of his clients from a practice perspective, considering not only the goal of prevailing in a dispute but the real factors which businesses must consider in determining the costs of prevailing. His approach is to assist his clients in dealing with present situations while maintaining long-term objectives of growth and success. His goal is to be a partner in the success of his clients.

Steven has lectured for National Business Institute, the Indiana State Bar Association, Community Association Institute, and other trade organizations on a variety of topics including: Directors and Officers duties, real estate, taxes, debt collection, FDCPA obligations, fiduciary duties. Additionally, Steven has served as an adjunct professor of business law and tax for Indiana State University’s MBA program and for national CPA examination programs.
